Nottingham-based Universal Works is a contemporary menswear label founded by David Keyte in 2009. Starting from his kitchen table, David aimed to create honest, timeless clothing influenced by musical and sporting subcultures.

Before launching Universal Works, David worked as an apprentice sign-writer and gained experience alongside renowned names like Paul Smith and Maharishi. Now, after 30 years, the brand is well-established, known for its popular styles, including shirt jackets, gilets, and jackets.

The collections emphasise classic silhouettes rooted in workwear, steering clear of fleeting fashion trends. Universal Works is also committed to small-scale production, collaborating with trusted artisans in the UK and abroad. This dedication to craftsmanship makes the brand truly commendable.
